Good news for local culture. The Kołobrzeg Institute for Culture and Promotion has received funding under the "Folk and Traditional Culture 2026" program for the project "Sound of the Sea and Voice of the People – Kołobrzeg Fishing Heritage." The funding is valued at PLN 110.

These funds will enable the implementation of extensive activities aimed at documenting and promoting fishing traditions, which have been a key element of the city's identity for generations. The project includes, among other things, the creation of an oral history archive, the preparation of documentary materials, and the organization of maritime craft workshops. Intergenerational meetings, aimed at residents of all ages, will also be a key element of the initiative, fostering the exchange of experiences and the integration of the local community.

The implementation of this project represents a significant step towards protecting Kołobrzeg's cultural heritage and strengthening its image as a city with strong maritime roots. The project received support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, which emphasizes the importance of initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting folk traditions in Poland.
