As dusk falls on Friday and Saturday, Kołobrzeg's neo-Gothic town hall transforms into a vast, luminous canvas. Thanks to 3D mapping technology, its facade comes to life: animations, lights, music, and graphics appear, and the building itself begins to "dance" and change shape.
A unique series of screenings has been prepared for May, taking place over three weekends: May 1-2, May 8-9, and May 15-16. Each day at 21:45 PM, City Hall will become the stage for thematic screenings, creating a vibrant story about the city.
On Friday evenings, viewers will traditionally see two screenings:
"Culture" is a visual celebration of local traditions, art, and social life. Animations depict festivals, concerts, and artistic events, showcasing Kołobrzeg as an open, creative, and vibrant city.
"I Love Kołobrzeg" – a colorful and emotional story about everyday life in a seaside resort. Promenades, walks, lovers, and a holiday atmosphere create a picture of a place you'll want to return to. It's a tribute to the city's atmosphere and unique character.
(screenings on Fridays until May 15)
Saturday's shows will take viewers back in time:
"History" - Tells the story of Kołobrzeg's origins, development, and turbulent history. This engaging, multimedia history lesson offers a captivating story for the youngest, a sentimental journey for older visitors, and an opportunity for new residents to better understand the city's roots.
"Adebar" – a journey back to the 16th century, when Kołobrzeg looked completely different. The projection reveals the city's former life: its structure, inhabitants, government, and everyday life from hundreds of years ago. It's an evocative vision of history coming to life on the walls of the town hall.
"The Battle for Kołobrzeg" – one of the most moving mapping installments. It recalls the dramatic events of March 1945: the fighting for the city, the destruction, and the difficult road to reconstruction. It is a projection that encourages reflection on history and the power of rebirth.
(screenings on Saturdays until May 16)
3D mapping at the town hall is not just a spectacle; it's also a form of education, city promotion, and community integration. By combining history, art, and modern technology, the old walls begin to tell the story of Kołobrzeg's past, identity, and contemporary life. The shows are free; simply arrive in front of the town hall, find a good spot, and let the light, sound, and image take you on an extraordinary journey. Whether you're here for just a short while or have lived there for years, it's a perfect opportunity to see Kołobrzeg from a completely new perspective.
Welcome, the magic of history awaits!
